Wrong country code

I can't change the country code on my brand new Samsung TV QE55QN85DBT.
This means I can't receive the local cable signal.
In the service menu you can change the region, but it has no effect.

The service menu says MODE: FAILURE

What can I do?

Hi @moguld  Welcome to the Samsung Community :smiling-face: Have you changed your location to a different region than where the TV was purchased?

Try the following whiuch has worked  for some customers:

Reset your  Tv and when on the  screen which says " Enjoy A wide Range Of Smart Features"  press the following on the remote :  Mute-Volume Up-Channel Up-Mute .  An alternative is    » - 2 - 8 - 9 - « (this is FFWD - 2 - 8 - 9 - REWIND) A window with the country selection should appear.

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

The country is selected during initial setup. There is also a region in the service menu, but nothing needs to be selected there. If the TV is designed for a specific region, other regions may be locked in the service menu at OS level.

Hi Anatoliy1
Thanks for the answers, I think you are right.
Do you know if you can update or change the OS?

You won't be able to upgrade or install another Tizen OC. Alternatively, buy a Chromecast, connect it to your TV, and it turns into an Android TV.
