I want to connect my Samsung UE49MU6400 TV to my hi-fi system and I bought a Techole digital to analogue converter device on Amazon which connects to the TV with an optical cable and converts to two phono cables. The problem is that I am only getting sound out of one speaker. I have reversed the speaker cables and the sound comes out of the other speaker so it isn't the speaker not working and the amplifier plays stereo sound when streaming music.
The TV speaker can be adjusted for L and R balance so I am wondering what I need to do to get stereo sound out of the TV or even if this is possible. Any ideas?

thanks for the help. I have solved the problem by changing the phono lead between the device and the amplifier I now have stereo sound so the lead must have a fault in it.
