Portal TV conflict with KS8000

I will start by saying I am a silver surfer so please don't be overly technical!

I have a UE55KS8000 together with a V6 Virgin Media box with all connections going through the "One Connect" box.

As VM is used 90% of the time I have added a VM tile to the "home screen" for quick switching between Netflix/iPlayer etc etc.

All worked 100% until we were given a Portal TV unit for xmas by one of our children.

Portal TV has its own power supply and is connected via HDMI to One Connect.

Portal TV works fine but has caused conflict with VM, requiring going into source menu each time we need to switch back to VM if we have been using a different source.

Both VM and Portal appear in the Source menu but it will only allow one tile to be added to the Home screen out of the two, that is confusing in itself!

So VM is in the Home Screen (my choice) but it does one of two things. A) The tile changes its name to Portal after a short period of time or B) It retains its VM name but in reality it is Portal. What I mean by that is if I switch to Netflix and then switch back to VM, it actually takes me to Portal TV. I can of course get to VM by going back to the Source menu but that is an additional step.

I have tried deleting the Portal tile from Home Screen and putting back VM from source menu but it just repeats its behaviour. I have also performed a factory reset of Portal TV and reinstalled. Finally, I have gone into Portal TV settings and turned off HDMI-CEC.

I have not done anything to either Samsung settings or VM settings as I would not know what to do.

Can anybody give me any help as it would appear that Portal wants to take preference over VM and I would like to stop that!
