Hi all,

My TV just died after 2 years of use despite reporting issues within my warranty period and my issue being shrugged off and not being offered a repair. I would like to escalate this further as no one is offering me help without payment.

On 23rd May 2022 (2 months after initial purchase), I begun reporting issues including a bulge in the back of my screen, the device overheating and discolouration on the back of the TV. I was advised to monitor the situation and report further problems. I did just that, and called on multiple occassions as well as reporting clicking and popping sounds but was told that the clicking and popping noises and other concerns I raised were “normal.” Now, just over two years later and out of warranty, the LCD panel has completely failed and I am absolutely devastated. It fades to black from the inside outward and continuously reboots. Despite attempting to fix the problem myself using your online guides, nothing has worked and I am left with having to buy another TV to which I cannot afford.

Thank you,

Shan

Sorry to hear you've had issues.

Can i ask why you didn't take it back to the place of purchase? Especially if you had problems after the first few months?

Hi James, I live by myself so was unable to carry it for a return and return arrangements couldn’t be made without a cost sadly.

Hey there and welcome to the Samsung UK and EU Community Forum

May I please ask where you bought the TV from?

Hi, I got it from Argos in 2022

Then you needed to go back to Argos, not Samsung.

Your contract is with Argos. As the retailer they were responsible for resolving your issues with the device.

This is widely publicised and is standard in the UK. In most cases, when you purchase from a retailer it is they who are responsible when things go wrong.

I fear that as you've not done so and your TV is (I understand) out of warranty (I'm presuming you didn't have a 5 year warranty from Argos), you're fighting a losing battle here. Sorry to say.
