TVHi, please see the attached pictures of my 22 month old Samsung UE48JS9000 TV purchased from John Lewis.
Is this common ? Am I still in warranty with Samsung ? Can I do something to fix this ?
Any advice please

TVHi,
Di you ever find a solution to this? My UE48JS9000 has exactly the same problem and I was wondering if it was repairable.

TVHi, It needed a new screen, I was covered under John Lewis so got it fixed foc, the repair man did say it would have cost £300-£400.

TVThanks for the reply!
Mine is touch over 3 years old now, so unlike yours it's no longer under warranty. £300-400 sounds cheap for a new screen. I may end up opting for a new TV.
Bu**er!

TVMine has the ink black patches at the side, about 2/3 of the the way up the screen.
If only I'd purchased mine from John Lewis! I'm fairly sure mine didn't come with a 5 year warranty, but I'll dig out the paperwork later. Ah well, you live an learn.

TVTo all out there with this issue.
The edge ledstrips (On the left, and right sides) get really hot and burn the plasic that transports the light from the leds through the "Defuser) Because it melts the plasic, the light get redirected.
It als buns the yellow plasic sheet lying on top of the Defuser...
Mostly the plasics that klip all the sheet togetter, also deteriates, breaks and so on.
So all needs to be replaced.
