One thing that might be standing between you and mind-blowing audio is the thought of connecting the Soundbar to your TV. With all the different connection options on offer, it can be a bit daunting. But that’s where this Samsung Hack comes in! Read on to find out how to connect your Soundbar to your TV via HDMI, optical cable, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi.
HDMI
Connecting your Soundbar using an HDMI cable will give you the best audio quality.
Connect the cable to the HDMI (ARC) output of your TV
Put the other end in the HDMI (ARC) input on your Soundbar
Switch on the Soundbar and the TV
Use the Source button on your Soundbar to select HDMI
On your TV, go to:

For an HDMI connection, you have two options:
TV + Soundbar: this will play the sound on both devices
Soundbar (HDMI): this will play the sound on just the Soundbar
Optical Cable
Using an optical cable will give you reliable and consistent sound quality.
Connect an optical cable to the output on your TV
Connect the other end of the cable to the optical input on your Soundbar
Turn on your Soundbar and your TV
Use the source button on your Soundbar to set D.IN
On your TV go to

Select Receiver (Optical)
Bluetooth
With Bluetooth, you’ll get great audio quality with a wireless connection.
Our your Soundbar, use the source button to select BT
When there’s a connection, you’ll see “BT ready” on the display
Press and hold the MIC button until “BT PAIRING” appears
When it’s in pairing mode, the front light indicator will light up
On your TV go to

Choose your Soundbar from the list of Bluetooth devices
Select Pair and Connect
Wi-Fi

If you connect your Soundbar using a Wi-Fi connection, you’ll have a wider range than with Bluetooth. You’ll also be able to use multiple connections to your TV.
To be able to connect using Wi-Fi, you need to download the SmartThings app on your smartphone.
Select WIFI on your Soundbar by pressing the source button
Connect your smartphone to the same Wi-Fi as your TV*
*If your wireless router uses a DFS channel, you won’t be able to set up a Wi-Fi connection between your TV and the Soundbar. Contact your Internet service provider for details
Open the SmartThings app on your phone
If you see a popup, tap “Add now” to connect
If a popup doesn’t, er, pop up:
Tap “Add”
Select “Device”, then “AV”
Choose the brand of your Soundbar from the list, then tap “Soundbar”
Tap “Start”, then select a Location and a Room
Press the volume down button on your Soundbar
Choose a name for your device
On your TV, head to

Sound

Here you have two options:
TV + Soundbar will give you sound from both devices
Soundbar (Wi-Fi) will give you sound from just the Soundbar
Once your Soundbar is connected, either via HDMI, optical cable, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi, you can change the sound output via Quick Settings.
