I am in UK and recently bought online a Galaxy Tab A9+. When it arrived I found that it was set up to beleive that my location was Cape Town in South Africa. I cannot see where to go to try to persuade it that my location is really UK. Please can someone point me in the right direction?

Did you set it up from scratch? Or was it already set up?
You normally get to set up your location and country while setting up so unless you chose it by mistake.
Also with Google its tied up with your account.
Worse case scenario. Id just factory reset and start over again.

I wonder if you bought this from eBay, just like I did?
When I received my Tab A9+, the model number on the box label was SM-X210NDBAMEA.
This is the Middle East & Africa (MEA) version, which is why they were being sold at such a low price.
I did some Googling and found I could download the European firmware, and with the help of Odin3 GUI and "Samsung Android USB Driver", I was able to install it without any problems.
Once it's installed, you will see a complete list of European countries with United Kingdom at the bottom, instead of the very short list of Middle East countries.
Hope that info' has been helpful.
