Unable to show factory reset screen

Hi,

Our son changed the login pattern for his tablet and can’t remember the new pattern.

As a result, he can no longer log in to the tablet. I’ve tried accessing the factory reset screen using the power and volume buttons, but it’s not working.

When I hold both buttons, the tablet keeps restarting. If I release one or both buttons after the tablet shows the startup screen (Samsung logo) again, it always takes me back to the login screen for the pattern.

What am I doing wrong? My son is fine with a full factory reset of the tablet, but I can't seem to get it to work.

The tablet is a Galaxy Tab A9 Plus, purchased in late 2024.

Hello,

To enter recovery mode you must connect it via a usb cable to a computer / charger or other phone. Try it again with this method please.

@Patrick  I tried doing that and I managed to get it to work again

1. Connected the tablet to my laptop using USBc
2. Pushed and held power & volume up button
3. When the display went dark, kept holding the power but switched from volume up to volume down
4. When the samsung logo showed, released both buttons

Nice, connecting with a usb cable is always the solution to acces recovery mode 😁 Im glad that your issue is resolved.
