I was thinking of buying a new tablet for school. Would the tab s10fe plus be ideal for basic note taking.

yh just for notes. I prefer having things digitally instead of paper

I have the S9 FE from last year and it is actually a pretty good tablet.

The included S pen is a nice addition and would suit note taking as you mention.

It doesn't have the most powerful processing but it is good for media watching as well as anything office related etc. Socials and web searching and YouTube are all easy tasks for this device.

In fact, if you also like to 'cloud game' then the tab FE range would even also do this well enough. With a paired bluetooth controller then game pass and other cloud games work pretty good. But will need a reasonable WiFi connection.

But anything harder than these use cases like doing video editing with lumafusion, perhaps playing native games that are installed on the tablet, and any benchmark tests, all show that the FE range is not quite up to those tasks.

I think the s10FE should be a great tablet for what you want it for. If you can afford then get the larger RAM and storage to future proof.

I also have the official book cover and this is a good quality protective case, especially if you are carrying it to school.

As with all of these things, it can depend on budget.

But if you are only using it for notes then as above, pretty much any tablet will do this for you.

Likelihood is that once you have your tablet, you'll be likely to use it more and more. Least years S9 series tablets are excellent as are this years S10 series.

I have the tab S10 Fe tablet and I can confirm that it's suitable if you need it for school. It doesn't support Samsung Dex but i guess you can connect to your school platform via Blackboard or something similar.
I believe it's powerful enough and you can do most office and editing, drawing things on it, pdf, excell and other office programs, it's a good start and in time you will realise if you need something more powerful.
