Hoping someone can help 🙏
3 of my kids have the Samsung Tab A 10.1 2016 model, all 3 have failed in the exact same way.
Whenever I plug in the charge cable the screen will turn on and show the charge icon, but it then starts flashing very quickly, and remains like this no matter how long it is left on charge (I tried keeping them all on charge for upto 2 days, but no joy.?

)
I've tried resetting thr tablet by holding down power on and volume down, tried changing the charger and charge cable to known working ones, I even brought a new genuine Samsung charger to try and rectify the issue but it dodnt work. I'm stumped for ideas and the cost of repair for all 3 is likely to be similar to the price of three new tablets.
Given I have 5 kids though, I don't have money to burn. I'd love to hear frome anyone who had the same problem and managed to fix it. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Regards,
Chris

hi, i also have a samsung a10.1 tab (SM-T585) and i had the same problem. last night my tablet ran out of battery so i tried to charge it. 2 hours later i came back and saw that the screen was flashing and it wasnt charging at all. i tried charging it again before bed last night and it still kept flashing. earlier today, i checked on it again and it was still flashing, so i wiggled the cable around a bit and the screen starting glitching out and there was even a line that started to form in the middle of the battery icon. just now i checked on the tablet again and it was at 30%. now my tablet just has a line in the middle of the screen and it works good enough. i think the problem is just the screen, not the battery but if you really need to fix them, then i suggest fixing both the screen and the battery and also try to avoid getting the tablet to 0%.

I just encountered the same problem. S6 Lite tablet. Resolved by holding pwr and vol dn buttons, after Samsung logo appears, release vol dn but continue to hold pwr button until system boots.

Condition prior to problem... left tablet in sleep mode, battery drained to 0%. From now on I will power down if I do not plan to use for more than a day.

Hey Chris!

Had the same problem with my tablet. Looks like the screen doesn't have enough power to turn on, setting the system into a loop of turning the tablet on and off again forever. I read that you tried a few different cords, which is what I tried, but I also plugged the cable directly into the wall instead of a power outlet extender. I also grabbed a shorter cord from an old toy I had, and after a few minutes, I have it up and charging. Just wondering if maybe you could try plugging a shorter, different cord into a direct wall outlet? That's what worked for me. Good luck!

I have a T585 A6 tablet and screen flickers while charging after dead battery. It has done this for a while and the only way to charge is to plug into a 2.0A charger and allow the screen to flash for around 20-30 seconds then unplug. Plug in again and continue to plug in and out for 20-30 seconds for about 10-20mins and eventually will start to charge normally. I try to not let it die completely.

The back-light brightness is consuming power from the battery while it being charged so reducing charge input into a low powered battery.

Can you advise when is to plug in and out? In my case when i try to charge my tablet via my laptop usb c socket, the sequence are : Blank, Flashing, Charging logo only..

I tried with normal charger, all it did after charging logo were just flashing.

My Samsung 10 Tablet was doing the flashing after I let it go to 0%. I then tried to charge it. Thank you to answers on here, I Sat and plugged it in and unplugged it every time it fashed and after a short time the line appeared down the middle of the screen. Next time I plugged it in, it started to charge right up to 100%. Thank you so much to this page.

Hi I know that I am replying very late! However, I managed to fix the problem.

I know its a shot in the dark and my solution may seem very 'obvious' but it worked for me, so if you had the same problem as me this is worth a try! :smiling-face:

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM:

Firstly, I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Lite tablet.

The battery is completely dead, it has 0% battery so its turned off. When I plugged the charger in the tablet, the circular charger symbol shows in the centre of the screen. HOWEVER, though the screen is black, it looks like there is a slight flicker on  the screen, almost as the black background is flickering. No matter what charging cord you use, or power source you plug it into, the tablet does not charge.

Now here's the 'easy resolution' that I found (by mistake) that solved this problem.

RESOLUTION:

  1. If you can, use the original Samsung charging cable, if dont have it then dont worry, as long as it is functioning cable that isn't damaged you should be fine.
  2. Find a suitable power source, i.e in a outlet (not a power bank, as it's not powerful enough - ik because I just tried this).
  3. Once your tablet is plugged up and charged, press the power button to get the charging symbol to show on the screen. If the screen is flickering, do not worry that's fine.
  4. Once the charging symbol shows, press AND hold the volume down button AND the power button until the screen goes off.
  5. Keep holding it until the screen comes back on and you see the charging symbol appear back on the screen. DO NOT PRESS ANY OTHER BUTTONS.
  6. The flickering of the screen should not be occurring, which means the tablet should be charging. Return back to it in a few minutes and power up as usual and allow the tablet to fully charge as usual.

Again, I know this may seem 'obvious' but I had the exact same issue and this fixed the problem. If the problem persists, I would reccommend calling Samsung and booking for a technician to have a check on it for free! If the tablet is still in very good condition and has a valid warranty, they would fix the problem for free. If there is external damage to the tablet (not including general wear and tear), this would void the warranty and they would send you a quote for the cost of the repair.

To contact Samsung, the telephone number is (UK only): 0333 000 0333
