I have a question.
If my tablet was affected by a security issue that was actually resolved by a security patch available weeks previously in other countries but not available in my country, would Samsung repair or replace my tablet for free?

Hi @DaveA1,
Is this a hypothetical? There's quite a few factors determining the appropriate next steps advised in such a scenario (warranty status being just one, for example), so it's not an easy question to answer with a straight 'yes' or 'no'. Any more info you can give us?

Yes it is hypothetical. I was concerned what Samsung's response would be if someone became a victim to a security vulnerability that had been resolved elsewhere. This could happen for example as a result of Samsung's long and staged roll out of updates.

Cheers, DaveA1.
Urgent security patches are released as quickly as they can be, and as and when they’re needed. Worth bearing in mind that firmware, model, regional (or, if applicable, network) differences mean that a specific device may not need a particular patch as it’s already protected.
But in the event that your nightmare scenario does happen: if your tablet is still within warranty then you’d be fully covered for repair. If it’s out of warranty, your case would be assessed on its individual merits by the relevant people at our end, and you’d be advised of the appropriate next steps for your particular situation from that.
