OneDrive sync & Samsung Gallery

Hi, could somebody with either a Tab S9 or Tab S8 and SD card please test something for me.

If photos and/or screenshots are saved to external SD card they DON'T sync to Microsoft OneDrive, but if saved to Internal Storage they do. Using Samsung Gallery.

Note: I'm not talking about back up (that's totally different).

As you can see from my screenshots. The cloud icon is missing from each if they're saved to the SD card (1st screenshot)but visible when saved to Internal Storage (2nd screenshot)

Even though the screenshots and camera albums are showing in 'Albums to sync'. (4th screenshot). None of the SD card stuff is there.

This behaviour is preventing me from viewing stuff on my other devices. I must point out that merging albums has no affect.

Appreciate any input.

Tut. Think I found the answer. Sync is not compatible with external storage. So, I can't use an sd card to save photos to and sync to OneDrive simultaneously.
