Hi all,

Why do I get notifications even though I have disabled "Allow notifications"? For example, YouTube. I have notifications off, but it still pushes notifications to my Tab S8.

Thanks.

If you're getting YouTube notifications despite disabling them on your Tab S8, here's the short version of what to do:
* YouTube App Settings (Most Important):
* Open YouTube app > Tap profile picture > Settings > Notifications.
* Toggle OFF all categories (e.g., Recommended videos, Subscriptions).
* For individual channels, go to your Subscriptions tab, and for each channel, tap the bell icon and select "None".
* Tab S8 System Settings:
* Go to Settings > Notifications > App notifications > YouTube.
* Ensure "Allow notifications" is OFF.
* Tap "Notification categories" and turn OFF all categories listed there.
* Last Resort:
* Go to Settings > Apps > YouTube > Storage.
* Tap Clear cache. If that doesn't work, try Clear data (you'll need to sign back into YouTube).

Hi. Thanks for your message. Sorry for the late response.

It's really weird. My app notifications are disabled for YouTube. Before, if you disabled them, you wouldn't get notifications at all. Now you still do. I have gone into the app itself and disabled the categories. I hope this has been resolved.

Thank you for your help. I hope I can now avoid notifications from disturbing my focus.

Thanks. 👍

Hi, I would suggest doing a clear cache partition, this might remove the bug that you're getting even disabling them.  (If you have already tried this and it didn't work,  just let me know)

To clear your phone's cache partition:

  1. Connect your phone to a PC.
  2. Turn off your phone (it won't enter Recovery Mode if it's on).
  3. Press and hold the Volume Up and Bixby/Power keys simultaneously.
  4. Once the Android Recovery screen appears, release both buttons.
  5. Use the Volume Down button to highlight "Wipe cache partition."
  6. Press the Power button to select it.
  7. Use Volume Down to highlight "Yes," then press Power to confirm.
  8. After the cache is cleared, press the Power button again to reboot your device.

If this didn't work, please send Samsung feedback, this is how you will do it:

Sending Feedback in Samsung Members

  1. Navigate back to the main page of the Samsung Members app.
  2. Tap on Support.
  3. Scroll down to Quick help.
  4. You should then see and be able to tap the Send feedback button.
