Keyboard Cover Issue causing damage on screen

Anyone else suffering with a similar issue with their keyboard cover?

It's where the keys are slightly raised and so the edges of the keys are impacting the screen. This is something that appeared after a few months of use (and external pressure on the cover moving around with it in my bad no doubt) on my S7+ tablet.

I haven't upgraded since given the issue and silent ears from the samsung staff in the experience stores.

Was curious about the s10 with the different keyboard design but financially wasn't worth the upgrade I felt for what was back then a fully working tablet, with working keyboard. Now the keyboard has stopped working (tested with multiple devices and multiple keyboards so it's the connectors on mine) and the screen has a crack.

Walked into the London Oxford Street experience stores to take a look at the s11. Pictures of the two covers from that store.

Just shocked to see they've reversed the design to the raised keys for the s11 so now:

  • Likely will have the same issue longer-term on the screen
  • The cover leaves a gap (black) meaning more dust and other things can get in and then get trapped between the keys and the screen
  • compared to the much more flush s10 cover (white)
  • and the s11 cover didn't even have a pen storage spot 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

The S Pen just sticks to the back as it's magnetic no slot to put it in. I have the Tablet S 8ultra and it's the same design a part from the rear camera which is slightly different.

My s7 pen sticks to the back magnetically as well, but without somewhere to hold it in place (with my book cover), then that magnet's not strong enough when moving around in a bag and the pen would/did fall off. Hence the weird design choice over not having the cover incorporating the pen to hold it there.

That's not the main point of the post, but definitely an interesting aside.
