I have a Galaxy Tab S4, SM-T830 since several years. Great device.
Since last week, it's rejecting my home wifi network. sometimes it connects, but then drops the connection. message is "cannot verify connection". IStrange enough, it does not have the same issue with any other wifi network. And until now it has worked fine on this network for years.
Other information:
Network hasn't changed. About 15 other devices in the house, (laptops, phones, tablets, TV's, radio's, new and old, continue to work fine on the same network. The issue is only on this specific tablet.
Tablet software is up to date. Android 10, One UI 2.1, Security Patch march 2021
Remediation steps already tried, all failed:
1 - switch off Wifi, then back on.
2 - forget wifi network, then reconnect
3. - reset the router
4 - complete factory reset of the tablet (yes I was that desparate).
5 - change the home network password. This helped for a day.. which leads me to believe that deep down some residual information sits there that went corrupt. But why did the factory reset not take care of that.....
None of those steps I took give me any luck. Could there be an issue with the internal hardware, wifi adapter? if so, why would it have no issue with other wifi networks?
Any help would be highly appreciated. I know the tablet still works, and can connect to other networks, but if I can't connect it to the home network, that's no use. a new one is expensive - but so would also be the cost of having this one checked and repaired.
Thanks!
