Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A SM-T510 which I cannot figure out how to utilise after a couple of years of inactivity. It is on One UI 3.1, Android 11, Kernel 4.4.177-22626479 from 2023.
The tablet will connect to either home wifi or a mobile hotspot but will not connect to the internet itself. I wish to update the tablet to see if that fixes the issue but cannot find any way to actually do it.
I have installed Samsung Smart Switch on my computer in order to try and update the device through that, but as Smart Switch isn't on the tablet itself I can't use it when connected by USB.
Every download page I can find for the android version of Smart Switch channels back to Google Play and doesn't provide an installation file that can be downloaded on PC and then moved to the tablet via USB to facilitate install.
Please can you advise how I can go about getting the tablet updated without its own internet connection?

The main router in the house provides both 5GHz and 2.4GHz. I also have a range extender that receives either but only emits 2.4GHz. Connecting the tablet to either of these results in the same, when the tablet connects it checks the internet connection and then can't use it. The same thing is happening when using a mobile phone hotspot, which leads me to think it is the tablet rather than the internet connection that is the issue.

I've tried forgetting and re-entering the password for the network and it's not having any effect. When I connect to the WiFi the text beneath the WiFi name states "Checking the quality of your internet connection..." and then after a few seconds changes to "Connected without internet" and a popup appears advising that internet may not be available with options to keep or disconnect the connection.
When I open the play store I'm met with a "Something went wrong" message and a "Try Again" button that instantly refreshes to the same screen when pushed.
