Aerospace Engineering Student: Why is Samsung Notes falling behind Apple for STE

I am a loyal Samsung user currently using a Tab S6 Lite and Note 9, and I’m currently saving up for the S24 Ultra. I am also planning to buy the Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 for my Aerospace Engineering degree. However, as an engineer, I am finding it harder to stay in the ecosystem because Samsung Notes is missing critical tools that are now standard on iPadOS and third-party apps like Notewise.

If Samsung wants to keep STEM students from switching to Apple, we need a "Technical/Engineering Mode" update:

  • Dotted and Dashed Lines: This is a huge missing feature. In Aerospace, we must draw hidden structures, axis lines, and fluid flow vectors. Apple Notes and Notewise have this natively; Samsung Notes does not. Drawing these by hand looks unprofessional.
  • Pen Stabilization Slider: On a 60Hz screen like the S6 Lite, or even a 120Hz Galaxy Book, we need a "Smoothing" slider (like in Clip Studio or Notewise) to ensure our free-body diagrams and equations look sharp and precise, not shaky.
  • Galaxy AI for Math: Apple just launched "Math Notes" that solve handwritten calculus. Samsung needs to leverage Galaxy AI to recognize, solve, and graph handwritten complex equations directly in our notes.

The Bottom Line:

Samsung has the best hardware (the S Pen is superior to the Apple Pencil), but the software feels like a basic "grocery list" app. I want to buy the S24 Ultra and Book4 Pro, but if I can't draw a professional-looking wing profile or solve a fluid dynamics equation in my notes, I might be forced to switch to an iPad.

Please show some love to the engineering and physics community!

Interesting insights, i think the HUGE issue is Samsung does not have and EDU type foot in the door like Google and Apple, but i do like your 3 points, i would submit these via the Members APP suggestions as Samsung don't monitor as such.

That said Apple AI is just ChatGPT.
