Currently the Samsung gallery does not support resizing to custom pixel sizes (2048px for example) and aspect ratios (16:9, 4:3 and etc). It supports only 20% 40% and etc. resizes. This is limiting because Facebook , Instagram and other social platforms , crop and compress heavily photos when uploaded, but they have preferred aspect ratios and pixel sizes (for example its 2048px long side of the photo and aspect ratios 1.91 :1 and 1024px and 1:1 aspect ratio for Instagram) which preserve the best quality.
So this feature will be very useful for all people who want to post photos to social medias straight from the phone with the best quality possible. Otherwise the workflow is rather tedious - transfer the photos to a laptop, edit the image size in Adobe Lightroom or some other similar software and then upload to social media.
Also from my perspective as a software developer I think this is pretty straightforward feature to implement.
