Notification number for voice mails left

At present, if I receive a voicemail on my phone, that I have not answered, I have to click on the phone icon, then click Keypad, then I will see the cassette icon of the number of voicemails waiting for me to listen to.  It would be an improvement if I could see that same number (of voice mails waiting) on my Phone icon as I open my phone.  Sometimes I ignore phone numbers that I don't recognize and may get so busy that I might fail to follow up to see if that ignored number, left a voice mail.  If I were to see that number show up on my phone icon as I open my phone, that would visually alert me to show that I have voice mails waiting.

Hi,

In Call settings > Voicemail > Notifications, you can set it up as an alert. Will that work for you?

Thank you for your help.  I have adjusted the Notification settings, but I was also looking for a number to show up as in my TEXT message below, to let me know there are voice mails for me to review.  As you can see below, I'm being shown that I have 2 New messages to look at.  It would be great if I can see a number like this on my Phone icon for new voicemails.
