Widget buttons into the quick access sidebar

The quick access menu that opens from the grey bar on the side of the screen can have six different icons. I barely ever use this feature, but I think there's one functionality that would make it useful for me: being able to drop widgets into it, which at the moment is not possible.

More specifically, I would like to fill the sidebar with buttons for the Philips Hue lights. These buttons can be created as widgets on the home screen, but they cannot currently be moved to the sidebar, as they're not actual apps but widgets. It would be nice to be able to either drag and drop the widgets into the sidebar or for the sidebar's customization menu to list widgets as well as apps, so I could select them that way.
