Hey, here are some of my OneUI 7 recommendations for the devs for the S23 Ultra! The videos showing my issues are in the bottom, and in order.
- Always-on-display needs to be updated. Everything bounces in random directions, phone, camera, and nowbar pop in. I wish it were updated to the one in the S24-S25 series.
- Switching between tasks is not smooth and fast enough in my opinion. Animations should be separate and non-linear in the task manager. For example, we can open another app while closing one on the home screen. We should be able to do the same in the task manager too.
- Quick settings sound slider animation is jittery when the sound level is changed by volume up-down buttons.
- Quick Settings Wifi and Bluetooth toggles are jittery on long-press.
- App opening and closing animations in an enlarged folder are not as smooth.
- Nowbar animations from both the lock screen and status bar cannot be canceled mid-execution, which makes the overall UX slower.
Recommendations:
- I'd like to be able to switch the music by sliding the image to the left or right in the Nowbar's extended music player on the lock screen.
- The phone calls could have a small pop-up in the status bar nowbar as well, for general harmony and ease of use.
- It would be good to have the ability to set Gemini as the default power button long-press action.
