I recently broke all the new features of Beta 3 over on my Twitter, and the general vibe I got was that people aren't a fan of the widened Quick Settings menu. I'm one of them.

Comparison between Beta 1 and Beta 3 in the Quick Settings screen.

The wider containers make the menu look odd, and the look of previous betas is generally favoured.

Also, while we're at it, the icon for Device Control is too large when using a third party provider, like Google Home.

Hopefully these quirks can be sorted in the next build.

Edit: I did some pixel peeping, as I was curious. Are the new Quick Settings menus the same as the containers within apps within One UI 7?

So I layered them on top of each other, and had a look.

You can see the individual pixels with this amount of zoom, and you can tell that the QS is slightly narrower than the containers, by a few px. Honestly, I'm not a fan of this change

I think it should adapt based on the corner radius of the phone (similar to how edge lighting works).

I really like the wider quick settings on my Ultra but seeing it on the base S24 and S24+ it doesn't look great.

Added bonus on the Ultra is that you now get 5 QS icons when your display scaling is set to the smallest so it feels like much less space is wasted1736195560779.jpg

Oh woah, that's cool. There'll probably be an option with quickstar to change the column count even higher, to like 6 even, which'll be awesome.
