Adaptive Refresh Rate Drops to 60Hz

Adaptive refresh rate works great across the system - until the camera becomes active.

Here are several examples:

Google Messages: When scrolling media to attach a photo, scrolling is incredibly laggy because the live camera preview forces the display down to 60Hz.

Instagram & Other Apps: Any app using the camera causes the display to drop to 60Hz, making the Ul feel choppy and unresponsive.

Samsung Camera App: Navigating the Ul, swiping between modes, or swiping out of the app feels notic sluggish due to the refresh rate drop.

Disabling camera access to google messages restores smoothness, but obviously this isn't ideal

Another area ive noticed which is strange is GBOARD. Scrolling emojis etc drops the refresh to 60 causing an obvious shift in fluidity.

Please allow the refresh rate to dynamically ramp up to 120Hz when the screen is touched, even if the camera is active. This would restore fluidity to interactions in camera-enabled views and maintain the smooth experience

Thanks for bringing this to our attention! Please also share an error report via the Samsung Members app for further investigation.

Have a good day! ☀️
