A-Z selection side bar

The A-Z side bar in apps is not very easy to use. I thought it was better in beta 1. To make it appear you first have to swipe down then swipe from side to get the letter to appear. The bar is to narrow for my 73y old index finger but not the s pen.

Can I suggest something similar to the A-Z selector that Niagara launcher use. Thank goodness vertical scrolling in app screen is back.
