Smartthings causing smart home issues

Ok so my home system ranges from Hive, Alexa, Ring, Eufy, TP Link, Tapo, Smartthings (App control only) and BG Electric.

For the last two years I have had endless issues with light automation and control, after alagging off Hive on their Community to no avail, then Trustpilot, Hive assigned a dedicated support, nearly 3 mths on nothing is really solved, but one thing did help, they removed the Smartthings link to Hive.

Around the same time I was having a nightmare with a Eufy wall camera which would not even follow a basic dusk to dusk light schedule. Eufy support sent a replacement, lots of diagnostics including me giving them log control and guess what they said ... remove any 3rd party links, this time it was only Alexa, e voila problem solved.

In summary I find Smartthings causes issues with my ecosystem, I allow it access to all my devices but its pretty useless and the native apps offer proper control.

Moral of the story, if you have any issues with smart home type automation, first port of call remove any 3rd party other OEM links, they seem to cause conflicts.

Yes, because nobody wants to play nicely and allow for interoperability

100% and Matter 1 and 2 were supposed to solve this, but for me Samsung is in no mans land, it offers no smart hardware, as in sensors, buttons, lights, cameras, etc.. and does a 💩 of keeping other APIs and their own upto date.

Sadly they are all the same, but those with hardware and software fair better, but like you say nobody plays nicely, or they might to start with, then later drop support leaving you with a near redundant system.
