Oh, thanks for the clarification. I have a USB charger that fits my Samsung but that didn't work either, so I guess it needs to be connected to s computer or a corded headphones

Yes it won't work by connecting charger. You gota connect it to PC or a wired headphones.

You need a USB C to USB A cable if they don't have a USB C port.

Since one with phone is USB C to USB C.
