Having been a fan of Samsung for so long now, and another Galaxy Unpacked 2025 Event is upon us. I have been very fortunate to have a chance to attend. This time San Francisco. I seriously can’t wait. Meeting Samsung Members Stars. To again be a part of Samsung Members Connect
I also can’t wait to share my experiences as well.
But this post is about how I have eventually became a Samsung Members Star. With some background for context.
Yep this is one of my settle down with tea and biscuits posts. Its a short as I can make it 😅
My journey with Samsung started with my first Samsung phone being the Tocco Lite.
I wasn’t over enamoured with the phone as the screen wasn’t very responsive.
But it was my first Samsung. This being followed by the Galaxy S2 and a year later the Galaxy S3 phone that really got me started as a Samsung Fan.
I credit the phone for getting my interest in Photography started as well.
Even got a picture in Android Magazine. Was on a cruise ship going into Dubrovnik.
Naturally the S4 and S5 followed before the Galaxy Note devices.
The S Pen functionality was a game changer for me.
Eventually getting, probably one of my most favourite of phones. The Galaxy Note 7.
So much so I was there pre ordering at one second past midnight.
Wasn’t the first but I got in the first one thousand orders.
Not bad considering how popular it was going to be.
I couldn’t make my mind up and got two. Both colours available here in the UK.
Sadly it all wasn’t ment to be. Both had to be recalled.
But I imported the Note 5 as it wasn’t available here before the Note FE came out. I imported that from Korea.
I really liked the gold colour and I still have this phone now.
I had plenty of phones and it was all so exciting then.
Excitement went mad when I got an invite to a private viewing of the first Galaxy Fold back in 2019. One of the first in the world to get hands on before it was released in the Samsung Experience Store in London.
Guess spending so much money with Samsung has its perks on the Rewards Programme.
I knew then that eventually I would have a Galaxy Fold phone at some point. The Galaxy Flip was my first folding phone, but then I got the Z Fold 3.
I remember how amazing it was and it felt like I had the future of smartphones in my hands.
I always had an interest in being part of forums, not just phones. But was part of a car community that was great.
Now I’d seen the Members App for a while. It was just one of those apps that came pre-installed and I didn’t think to explore it.
Eventually I heard something about it and boom. Went in and after looking through the sections and started seeing how members were so supportive of others.
So 1st August 2021, I posted a photo I took with my Note 20 Ultra.
Really my journey started right there.
Posted some helpful stuff and answering questions, I started to enjoy it. Getting accepted by others that had been on the community for longer.
Generally enjoying being a part of it all.
What I liked was that you weren’t expected to be a total fan boy. But you could just talk about good and not so good bits and not get berated for it. Encouraged to just be yourself.
So as I got more prolific with my posts and answering questions. Encouraging others.
Started getting pinned posts and getting great comments.
Really enjoying some of the posts I’ve done. Some photographing the moon and planets. To comparing my S22 Ultra to my Brilliant Panasonic Lumix S1.
Really surprising to see how good the phone was compared to a full frame pro camera.
As the phones got ever better, and especially the cameras. Could really enjoy the phones and get such great photos.
The S Pen on the S22 Ultra was brilliant for many things. But as a remote shutter button, it was perfect when the phone was setup on my telescope.
I started conversing with the Samsung Stars, were called Samsung Makers back then.
So I was really getting into it and was aiming to get all the way to the top rank.
Think I got to Grand Master before being asked if I’d want to be a Samsung Maker.
Well naturally I said yes, but didn’t think I’d done enough.
But it’s not really the amount you do, it’s the quality of things like posts and replies. Being respectful and patient with answers, to name a couple of things.
So I was asked and joined the group that eventually changed to Samsung Stars.
All for just doing stuff I liked and enjoyed.
Then the unbelievable for me happened.
Asked if I would like to travel to Korea to experience the Galaxy Unpacked Event in person.
Seriously wow. What an opportunity to not only visit the home of Samsung. But one of my bucket list places to go.
To actually visit the Samsung Digital City and testing labs was truly a humbling feeling.
Amazing, amazing experience that I will never forget.
Then again I was lucky enough to goto Paris this last summer to another Galaxy Unpacked Event at the Louve Museum. Just wow again.
Now I’m going again, but to San Francisco. Oh my, all the way to America.
I just can’t wait. It’s a real show experience being there, seeing the world’s press and being one of the first to get hands on with the new Samsung Upcoming Phones 2025
Also had the chance to use a Z Fold 6 for a few months as well. Get invited to Members Stars events.
There are some amazing benefits to being a Members Star. But one of the best perks about it.
It’s meeting other Members Stars from this community and around the world.
Because we all have a common interest, everyone just gets on so well.
I’m still in touch with Members Stars from Singapore to America from my Unpacked Event in Korea.
Meeting and working together on our missions. You can’t help make friends.
All this just spurs you on to do more. The hard work from the Samsung Members Moderators and Managers that beaver away in the background, certainly is appreciated and with them and Members Stars, the community is just getting better.
Recently awarded a second Star, gives me a bit extra I can do on the community. To know I’m being trusted with that bit extra responsibility. It really does actually feel special. To feel you do make a difference to the community and part of helping to make it an informative, helpful place.
The community is always looking for that next bright Members Star. Just getting involved and enjoying what you do. Share your passion and knowledge.
Sorry it’s a long post, but I can go on. I’ve condensed it as much as I can.
Below is a small collection of some of my posts I enjoyed making so far. Too many to list, but a few I mentioned earlier including my first post.
