Samsung gallery face recognition update

Anyone who knows how to get the gallery to continue search faces in the gallery app? Mine has found 28 people/faces... Now it's not finding anymore? I tried to reset the app..

I have most of my gallery in the Onedrive cloud.. But they show up in my Samsung gallery just as I want them to do.

Why doesn't the face recognition work anymore?

It worked on my old Galaxy S9+ already and now with "the great AI device" (Galaxy S24 Ultra) this former great feature is just gone. Really big disappointment here! I hope you'll fix that asap

Same here, it found 4 faces, tagged 1% of the photos and that's it. You come up with great innovative features and old ones  are not working properly. True disappointment.

I have the same issue. Only old photos from my S23 are tagged. For new photos taken on my S24 it's not working. 

It's not only face, but also text recognition. On my S23 I was able to take a photo of a document and then use the search function to search for a text in the document and the image would show up in the results. Not working anymore at all...

Very disappointing for such an expensive phone. Where can I file a bug report?

You can create an error report by searching for the Samsung Members icon in your phone and holding down your finger on the icon until the text Error reports appears and then press Error reports.

Keep in mind that in order to include as much information as possible in the error report, the error report should be created immediately after the problem occurred.

If it has been a while since the problem occurred, we recommend that you try to reproduce the problem and then create a new error report.

I just reported the error. I really hope that someone will fix the gallery face recognition. The phone really sucks without it.

After a few chats with the support one "solution" came up: seems like the problem was the activated battery saving mode which stopped charging the battery once it hit 80%. I disabled that, charged the phone over night to 100% and the next morning, around 13 faces have been recognized. To me, that is still a bug. I want the phone to also recognize faces when the phone is charging and on 80%. Don't know why any feature should only work on 100% battery and not 80%

This is exactly my issue too! I have my Routine set to charge my phone over night to 80% and before I wake up, to continue charging up to 100%. While on charge AND connected to my home Wi-Fi, the backup to OneDrive is started. During these conditions in the morning I find few new pictures "found" by my phone to be tagged. It would be great if it worked little faster, as today my phone scanned pictures dated from today until 08/2019. So in 2 months time my phone managed to scan pics of 5 years span. Still there are pictures until 2008 to be scanned...
It would be great if it was possible to force my phone to scan another pictures, not just wait for the overnight charging. It worked fine on my previous S20+ anytime I asked my phone to find new faces.
There is many users looking for this feature in Samsung Members app in my country, PLEASE return this great feature!
