Yeah ultra has been a thing for a long time now.
Google has Gemma, small models you can run yourself.
Gemini nano, quick and cheap.
Gemini pro, advanced and more costly.
Gemini ultra. Not yet released to the public, from what google says it should be.
I'm guessing nano was renamed to flash as that'd make sense. But yeah going off what google has said in the past, they have an even smarter type of model thats in development. But it'll cost a lot to use.
Also for the deep research part of what you said. All that is is allowing the model to look things up and research websites. It isn't a model itself, its a tool the model can use. Giving a smarter model research capabilities would allow it to be even better, but it'd cost an absolute ton.
Quick final part. Gemini 2.5 flash pro and ultra are all technically the same model. Just various levels of smart and exponential cost. Right now if ultra does exist, it costs more than is profitable to allow people to use
