Gaming on a mobile device. Some hints and tips on the options available

Since I got my S25 ultra at the end of January, I had wanted to try out and use the capabilities of the gaming options. 

I do have a PC gaming setup at home, and I used to own a steam deck, but I decided to sell that onwards and concentrate my attention on using my S25 ultra as my gaming handheld.

With another couple of months passed i have been playing games flawlessly with my phone and Razer Kishi ultra handset. This really does compete in its ability with the likes of the steam deck and other handheld devices. The Snapdragon elite chipset is a powerful beast. 

I prefer to use the XBOX gaming pass service for streaming. Of course you need a reasonable WiFi connection for this, but equally if you are out and about with good 4G+ or 5G then it is still possible to game. 

Over the past couple of months I have regularly played fifa, Tiger Woods golf, F1 2024 and Indiana Jones and the golden circle ... all from the XBOX subscription. 

I have also played some of my PC games through the Nvidia Geforce Now app. 

Additionally, i previously liked to emulate games with my steam deck from the ZX spectrum, Nintendo DS and the PSX. This is also available with android, and using emulation station as a front end application. 

Overall gaming experiences are very positive with the S25 ultra. If this is something that you wish to try the see my earlier post and consider the options available.

I got a PS5 last autumn and looked into the PS Portal and said it isnt worth the cost when I have an S22 Ultra and unlimited data. I just put my PS5 in sleep mode, throw my controller in my bag pair it to my S22U and game on, while out

I game on Samsung smart TVs with the exception of my switch in handheld mode. all our tvs are Samsung smart tvs except 2, one old HDTV I use as a monitor for PC and a Vizio smart TV my mother bought on a trip which she ended up disliking immensely and I told her she should have bought a Samsung, and she hated I was right. That one is the guest room TV. when that TV stops working, it will be replaced  with a Samsung, of course

Great post! I'm also using the S25 Ultra and it handles games really well. I've been playing Stardew Valley on it with a controller, and the performance is super smooth — no lag at all. It’s awesome to enjoy such a relaxing game on a powerful device like this.

Thanks for sharing these insights! I've been using Game Booster on my Galaxy S23 Ultra, and it's impressive how it optimizes performance during gameplay. The ability to block notifications and monitor device stats in real-time truly enhances the gaming experience.

I cannot game much on my S22U or stream YT Music too long without a significant drop in battery. it has worse battery life than my 5 year old Note 20. With all due respect, I have a love hate relationship with my S22U especially since my heart was deeply set on S23U but I wasn't able to get one yet.
