I have an S22 Ultra and got the new One UI 6.1 a few days ago. I have appreciated that upgrade and the AI features that came with it. But I recently discovered something in the gallery that bothers me a lot. When you edit a picture, you can no longer make your own stickers. Or, you cannot choose which part of the image you want to make into a sticker. The AI itself automatically chooses which part of the image it thinks will be good, and that's it. Why do I no longer have the option to choose which part of the image I want to cut out? The AI often does a terrible job of choosing what to cut out. Am I being stupid and missing some setting, or is Samsung thinking I can't handle the responsibility of cropping my own photos?

Hi, I'm gutted the feature has been removed but as an alternative if you are looking to place an image on another as a sticker then I've got a work around below (you can probably crop the image separately prior to theses steps).
Go to Gallery and hold select image you want to make a sticker of > tick it > More (three dots) > Copy to Clipboard > Open base image to place sticker on > Decorations tab > select Text > When the keyboard appears you have the option to paste, either latest copy or use the Clipboard > Paste > Drag, Resize and Move as before. Hope that helps!

Whoever had the idea to remove this feature needs to be removed from your company. Downgrading tools and features makes absolutely no sense for an "upgrade." Not to mention the sticker AI is horrible at best.

I'm not sure if you still check replies for this post anymore, but the option is still available. It's just not under the "create sticker" option anymore. Instead u can find it by going into edit mode the same way, then click on tools option, then click on lasso. Under the lasso option u will find the option to crop manually and all the original options that were once located within the sticker section. Hope this helps and good luck!

I figured that out for myself, after an embarrassingly long time. 😂 But thanks!

The issue me and everyone else is having is that lasso is no longer there. It just automatically selects part of the image. No longer able to customize it like if I just wanted a sticker of someone's head.

I'm having same issue on my S23 since updating to Android14 / OneUI 6.1.
I far much preferred manually cropping, or not cropping at all when adding stickers. AI often omits essential parts of picture or makes weird holes in contours.

Yes, I have the same problem, too. S24 garbage product. All Samsung AI tools are trash.

This is so stupid. I rub several meme pages across multiple apps and this is my main method of making memes. This just started affecting me recently and needs to be brought up with a supervisor to be brought back.
If this isn't resolved I will be switching from Samsung, I hear Apples photo editing is becoming better these days..
