Is there a way to turn off some of the awful animations? 

Example: Say when closing Twitter the app kind of shrinks and their is an animation that shows the app icon moving back to its location on the home screen. 

It looks tacky and it's slow.

That is what Android 10 is all about.
Seamless transition between apps and activities on the screen.

Currently, there is no way to disable that option as it is something that Android 10 offers (It's a feature, not a bug! ) .

But I can understand that this change may not be desired by many, so that's something we will look into. 
Maybe it can be changed!
