WiFi auto on and off doesn't work - need help please

Hi! 

On my previous S9 WiFi turning on and off works like this: when I go out, WiFi goes off; when I come home, WiFi turns on and connects automatically - all of this without GPS turned on. I suppose, because the S9 has seen available network. 

Now, on my S23 this doesn't work. I don't want to have GPS turned on, like then. I think I made all necessary steps (months ago): checked "auto reconnect" and also "forget connection" and "save new connection" to help to learn new behavioral patterns. All for nothing. 

Can you help me please?

Hi and welcome, have you sleeted Intelligent WIFI, it is under WIFI, top right 3 dots.

I must thank you as whilst getting a snip for this post I realised mine was off, which has been driving me nuts at the gym.
