Motion photos inconsistant?

I have motion photos enabled, and it was like that before I joined beta. Hadn't noticed any issues.
But now I noticed that some pictures are taken as motion photos and some not?
Is that something others noticed? Is it design intent? Not quite worked out when it works and when it doesn't...

Hello @Dadou1 ,

The Motion Photo option doesn't need to be activated every time you take a photo. It depends on how long you press the shutter button. If you hold the button longer than usual, the camera will capture a short animation before and after taking the photo, which helps capture moments that might be missed in a regular still shot. If you just want to take a regular photo, simply press the shutter button briefly.

Have a great day!

@BeataPe I don't think that's right...? I disabled and then reenabled the setting, and now it is taking motion picture at every take.
Long press starts a full video capture.
So I think my original question and issue report is valid... The motion photos seem intermittent?

Hello @Dadou1 ,

In this case, I suggest you to submit an error report via the Samsung Members app. This way, our developers behind this feature can investigate the issue in depth.

Have a great day!
