Gap between last widget and navigation icons.

Is there a way to reduce this gap? I swear it wasn't this large in one ui6

Has this been resolved in the meantime? I switched to UI 7 and omg, the changes that have been made are horrible! why so much space waste, is there now a way to reduce this gap??

Please yes.. it's awful that wasted space and my home screen is all scrunched up now. Such a bizzare move. Frustrating.
