A52s 5g camera

I recently bought an A52s phone specifically because the good reviews on the camera.

No matter what settings I use on the camera (photo, Pro, Panorama, macro, etc.), the largest size photo I get is 5MB, but most are 3MB or less. These are the same sizes I was getting with my old phone (A30). I assumed I should be getting much larger photos. I am obviously doing something wrong. Can anyone advise?

I have the same phone and my photos are normally between 8mb and 22mb depending on the setting.

So I checked on my wife's A32s phone and saw that with the Photo option, she had an option of 3:4 64MP. I checked again on my phone and suddenly that option was there. But in Pro mode, her phone also has the 3:4 64MP option, but mine does not. Since my phone is the more expensive option, it should be there. Any ideas?

I would really be surprised 😮 to see a Samsung's device without the 3:4 format in Pro Mode because this is the most utilized format used by smartphones photographers .

Can you show us a printscreen of your Pro Mode screen like this one ?

 I will check tomorrow for your technical camera informations...

I suspect you mis-read my issue: When in Pro mode on the A52s, I do get the 3:4 format, but NOT the 3:4 (64MP).

I have subsequently realized that PRO mode does not necessarily give better photos, it just gives one more control over the settings. (I may be wrong, but it would make sense to me). However having a 64MP option in PRO mode would still be useful. I hope that Samsung does add it in an update soon.

You see at the top there is 3:4 but no 3:4 (64MP). This is in Pro mode. The next photo was taken in normal Photo mode and you can see that there is 3:4(64MP) at the top.

@Photo club  thanks for the printscreen,  i was checking the differences between your device and your wife's device. I did'nt found A32s...

I'd like to know if both devices are with Android 12 or if your wife's device is still on Android 11...Did you remember if 3:4 (64MP)  was there for your device  on Android 11 in Pro Mode  ?

(i loose some important camera's functions for me when i updated to Android12,).

Presently, i don't have the new sensor like both of you did and i'm waiting to my S22 to check the Pro Mode  if 3:4 (50MP) will be there when the main camera have the OIS (object image stabilization) ....this is the only difference i see in comparaison of your devices.

Here are screenshots from my wife's phone. I am sure she is also on Android 12. I have never seen the 64MP on my phone before (software was upgraded about a month ago).
