Previous post about VoLTE calling here:
Suddenly the option to turn off VoLTE was returned, after a system update.
However when I was having a call today, when swiping right on a contact in recents sections on the phone app it stated WI-FI Calling, when it used to say VoLTE instead (see previous post about the issue). I wasn't even connected to Wi-fi as I never connected the phone to my home network, or any other WI-Fi networks
I proceeded to check the settings and to my suprise the option to toggle VoLTE is now back, but the WI-FI calling is turned off in the phone app settings. Yet, in running processes under developer options I see WI-FI calling process running and cached.
Also i tried using the internet while calling with VoLTE off, but I websites appeared to be not supporting https, and other things requiring the internet don't seem to work neither.
Why am I all of a sudden bount to calling on VoLTE, the quality of it is horrible, constant crackling on the line and not even having discussed the potential exploits VoLTE calling is supposedly riddled with.
Any new suggestions?
