Zoom 3x while video uhd/60 (s21+)

When I use the back cameras and start video, i can only use standard (1x) and the wide angle lens. 3x zoom is not available, which I find strange in itself? 

However, when I start recording use the selfy cam, and while recording, switch to the back camera, 3x zoom is suddenly available??

So it does work on this lens. Why has it disappeared from video when using uhd60?

You can, but that will only end up in digital zoom. It doesn't switch you to the other lens.

That is correct. Thats why I would never advice to zoom in in 4k or 8k.

But it seems it can be done! With a workaround, so why not in the interface at it should be..?

Its mainly because the 4k and 8k uses a different lens than the zoom lens dedicated for optical zoom. And since you cant switch lenses while you film you are stuck with digital zoom.

If you wanna film with optical zoom it wont be in 4k or 8k. You can go in photo mode and while you in optical zoom long press the shutterbutton for filming.

Funny thing is (and feel free to give it a try to see what I mean). When you start video in 4k/60 with the selfy cam, and then switch to back cam, all those Options ARE available. Camera switch, using zoom camera etc!

At that point you are not in 4k 60fps. Like i explained before you cant switch lenses while filming so youre stuck with digital zoom.

Believe me, it is 4k/60. Checked on premiere Pro when importing. Have you given it a try?

 edit: première says it’s 4K, however I can see now source is actually fullhd. Strange…
