Hi all , I have the Samsung s8+ and my messages were always yellow but some of them now turn green and indicate when someone read that message. Can someone explain what it depends on ? As im guessing it uses internet instead of texts but when I text my bf it doesn't work and it only happened twice while texting my mom. I have attached a screenshot of the conversation you can see it there

It is possible that your phone is in chat mode. Try to switch it to sms/mms. If the other party doesn't have same phone with the chat feature on you get these green text box. When in a text message, in the upper right hand corner, there are three dots and thats where its at.

My 1st thought is, is your bf on a samsung phone? as normally it's down to the message app on both ends if they are both samsung it will show green but if the other is another phone system (like iphone) the it will stay yellow?

I am texting from an S8 to an S8+ and when the messages are green they show as delivered and when they are yellow they don't. Any illumination as to what is occuring? Strange things occur with the timing as well. I send my wife messages and they do not arrive in order. This has all started with the "enhanced" messaging. This is a fresh reload on a newly serviced phone. Any ideas as to what is going on?
