Samsung S7 Edge - Stuck in a boot-loop.

Hi all!

My Samsung S7 Edge is stuck in a bootloop. It previously would get to various stages in the reboot cycle but this most recent occurence of the device crashing is the worst yet.

The device is stuck turning itself on and off. I have tried restarting in 'Safe Mode' but the phone will not respond to the actions and continues in the rebooting/crashing/rebooting cycle. The reboot never gets beyond the first Samsung welcome page you get when you normally turn the phone on.

I have tried to access the menu that gives you the options to 'reboot' and 'clear cache' etc but i get a 'No Command' screen with a dead android and an exclammation mark. I have tried the various button combinations to try and get past this screen but nothing works.

The phone does not power off.

My phone is not seen by my computer when it is connected but it does light up my charger, indicating i hope that it is responding to a charge, though leaving it on charge makes the device way too hot.

The only other menu is the one to install custom OS but i don't want to do that so i leave that screen alone! Just select the restart option.

This problem has happened before but this most recent epidsode has made my phone feel too hot for comfort, irritatingly unresponsive and just plain useless. It has been in a bootloop now for over eight hours.

Hoping i can find some help from the wider samsung community!

Many thanks

I am with EE so i can't comment on the warranty supplied by Vodafone, but you should still have the Samsung warranty on the phone, depending on when you purchased it. I think mine in the booklet i received on purchase said it lasted two years.

Being honest, my phone didn't have any scratches on it but i don't think you will have a problem if you visit a Samsung shop because the scratch isn't the issue it is the software problem (or possible hardware problem) which is not your fault at all, it is an issue with the phone.

You can only go and speak to the people at a Samsung store and they should be able to sort the phone out for you because of the nature of the fault.

My s7 edge is in a constant loop from a system update. Reaches 31% then reboots back to the intall update. Hate having to download stuff like odin because there is not enough step by step info. e.g  to where the file is for the AL box. Nothing comes up. Cannot access any sub menu when holding all the buttons except for 'downloading' ....and my phone doesnt show up my pc in kies or smart switch or odin. Think the bin is the best option

I have the Same Issue. My S7 Edge is stuck in the UPDATING MODE, goes up to 31% and then it restarts only to do the same at 31% !

I can't turn it off, can't go into recovery mode or anything, only into download mode. I downloaded ODIN but i don't know from where to download my firmware. I bought the phone from AUSTRIA and it isn't from any service provider. What can i do ?

After trying everythung I could find online and then talking to a Samsung helpline (who knew less than i did as i tried more than they offered) I used my bank insurance, paid £100 excess and got a new one in 2 days. My problem one was a brick and irreparable  so best of luck buddy

My wife had an issue with the volume buttons and the screen. The screen became kind of separated into several distinct bars or sections horizontally. They would be stretched vertically if she used the volume buttons. Optus would not fix it straight up because it had a small crack in the bottom right corner of the screen. They told her that she had to get the screen replaced first, to bring it back to warranty spec. For which they charged her a couple of hundred bucks. Then they fixed the issue.

Thanks for the thread. I had a reboot loop. I reset the handset as per Bades1978. Only difference was i had to use power+vol down+home to reboot and when i pressed vol up i got to a scary screen that said do not reboot as was downloading. After a little while i built up the courage to reboot anyway and got a broken android screen.
The handset then went into recovery mode. I was about to reset to factory when i thought id giver rebbot another go and the handset came back as jf nothing had happened. Amazing! Thanks @bades1978

Thank you!

Booting temporarily into download mode as suggested worked in my case.

I faced the same issue. Many forums just say to restart the phone but the phone was stuck. I tried everything until i read it somewhere. you need to press the volume down and power button together until the screen disappears. the u have to scroll to reboot and press the power button to select. that just did the trick for me!!!
