Part of touch screen not working

Part of my touchscreen has stopped working on my phone which I am sure is due to a tiny crack in the bottom corner of my screen(which happened when there was a so called screen protector on it) but now after my phone restarted it’s not allowing me to enter my unlock pattern as one part of the pattern is in the non working part of the screen, is there anyway I can bypass this part of the sequence so I can use my phone again? Has anyone ever had a similar issue? Any help would be very much appreciated

If you have a Samsung Account set up on your phone, @FrazH, you can log into  Find My Mobile to remotely unlock your phone.

  • Head to: Find My Mobile
  • Once your phone is located click on it
  • One the side menu you can unlock your phone from the 'Lock' section - unlocking this way will also remove any security you have set, so they will need added again.

A screen protector will only go so far to protect the screen in the event of an accidental drop.

Unfortunately as accidental damage has occurred this wouldn't be covered in your 24 month manufacturing warranty.

Samsung or your network wouldn't probably entertain opening up the phone due to the damage and would levy a charge to replace the screen.

There are options to bypass but because your wanting to circumvent a security protocol then your personal information maybe lost.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "
