Other SmartphonesI have a 3 month old s8 which keeps freezing on a wide range of apps. It generally freezes for 8 to 15 seconds. It could happen on Chrome, facebook, gmail, and even the phone app. When it happens, nothing responds at all except the power button.
I tried all the generally recommended fixes ( clearing the cache, restarting, resetting, and even a full reset back to factory settings and rebuild from the cloud backup) I even get the problem when in safe mode. It seems also like it is getting worse and worse. The phone is already not fit for daily use.
Most of the comments and blogs say to return the phone (still under warranty). But surely there must be more sophisticated diagnostics I can perform, right?
Anyone have any ideas?

Other SmartphonesFrom what you write you have tried all the self help troubleshooting tips.
Therefore I'd suggest to use a Samsung Service Centre so they can run a diagnostic test on the phone.
