Hi i hope someone can help me with this problem. Since i updated the last software update on my phone, my phone keeps restarting whenever i use the internet or even on apps that worked perfectly fine before that update. Is there anyway i can solve this problem as its getting rather annoying now. It is also happening on my daughters phone and she has the same model phone as me

I don't believe either that it's the game developers faults, simply because this restarting ***** started right after their last software update.  And as stated it seems to be in only the J3s.

Why only those phones and no other Samsung models are experiencing the same issue? Obviously they have a bug in the latest update and Samsung just don't want to face it, deal with it and fix it. To think Samsung used to be a top brand. Seems not anymore.

same here, in August right after the system upgrade there was a black dead screen, I fixed it. since then it keeps rebooting and with the time it gets worse and worse. if a month ago it was restarting just 1-2 times at once, now it restarts 10 times at once. Also it keeps showing 20 times at once an error message like " instagram app has stopped". The screen is problematic as well. So I just think to replace it and never buy samsung again.

Had long chat with Samsung experts.  Very helpful. It seems the firmware update was fine but some app designers have not upgraded their games erg and that us the problem.  We will gave to wait to see that the app developers do. Microsoft have similar problems sometimes with third party developers.

Yeah, I'm calling bull on that explanation, because I'm only having resets during games when i'm connected to WiFI or mobile data. If that really was the problem, the games would be affected online or offline. Samsungs trying to peddle a load of manure and calling it an update.

Glad it's not just my phone.  Sent in many error reports, making it impossible to play games.

rebooting more and more every day and it's getting more and more stressful .. I'm tired! the worst update .. 4-5 consecutive reboots.. 15-20 per day..

Noticed something. If my phone is gonna restart I get random freezing on Chrome where I'll  just be scrolling and the screen's image will get stuck but still register my inputs underneath. Then after a minute or so it goes black, then works fine without any reboots or anything before Chrome freezes again. It's as if the freezes are when the phone would restart if i was on my game. Anyway when this happens I know my phone is going to restart when I play, and this usually happens after my phone has been on for half an hour or so. Turning it off for a while resets the cycle however and makes it unlikely to restart when I turn it back on to play until after half an hour or so it starts to restart and the Chrome thing comes back simultaneously. Weird.

It affected other Samsung and Google phones and tablets in the past but they all got immediately updated to Android 8.1 which fixed the Android 8.0 issues we're currently experiencing, but it seems to be just this specific version of the reboot issue that's affecting the J3. It looks like we'll be getting a fix with the Android 8.1 update scheduled for sometime around January I think. But what the HELL are we going to do without properly functioning phones till then?

This looks serious. Replacing your phone is probably a good idea as it seems this is a one-off as I can't find any other reports of an issue that matches this description. I don't think the upcoming fix will help you unfortunately. Also, I know someone who had "app has stopped" errors on another android device, it broke a while after that started.

Mine seem to be completely random. PUBG mobile seems to be the only app now that triggers the reboot. My guess: something to do with memory overflow when paying 3d games. Java garbage collector always has been a pain in the @SS, but the OS has to know how to deal with this without rebooting... J3 only has 2Gb of ram which isn't much for an android 8.0 (my oppinion).

I do get crashes on internet and YouTube , just games if online. If it was the games themselves it would crash offline too. It's the update, not the ***** phone.
