Other SmartphonesI have an annoying message that has recently started popping up on my Galaxy S7. It tells me it's time to update Enhanced Features. I have never seen anything about this before and can't find it anywhere on my phone. I've Googled it and I don't want anything to do with it. How can I get rid of it (if it's on the phone) and stop these messages appearing? (Without having to download another app to do this!).

Other SmartphonesHi @Oggy531,
Can you run the phone in safe mode for a while and see if you are getting the same message?
Turn on and use safe mode
Safe mode allows you to turn on the device with third-party apps disabled. Then you can easily uninstall apps that may be causing a conflict or software problem.
Turn off safe mode
If you still get the messages at this point you should check for a software update in the phone settings, if not it means it is a app that is causing it and you will need to track down which one it is the is causing the issue, if you visit the play store you can check there for updates on the installed apps too. If no software update or app update is needed through the directions given above then you have a rouge app and I would recommend running a device maintenance scan and virus scan.
Hope this helps let me know how it goes

Other SmartphonesHi
How can I run a virus scan on an s7 edge.
I know there are lots of apps on the play store.but from what I have read some of them are not trustworthy
.
I always do scans through device maintenance but more often than not it just flys up to 100% within a couple of seconds.
I only. Have 4 apps on my device so maybe that is why it can do it so quick.
I also have the security option in Google turned on (verify apps and scan device)
Are these measures enough.
I don't follow unknown links either
Thanks

Other SmartphonesHi @DRUIDDOODE513 I would have to say that there are A LOT out there and everyone likes them in different ways but in the case of which one is safe the best way is to use this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wsandroid.suite&hl=en

Other SmartphonesHi and thanks for the advice. I did all that and unfortunately still get the message to update the wretched Enhanced Features. No threats show up in scans by Malwarebytes or Avast... 😞

Other SmartphonesSo it happened in safe mode? if so then Go into the contacts app, select your profile, then select information, then select "More" at the top and deregister phone number.

Other SmartphonesYes it happened in safe mode. Thanks very much for the advice but my phone doesn't seem to have an option to de-register. I run into a dead-end when trying the procedure you gave - there is no de-registration possibility. Not sure why...I've sent an email directly to Samsung about this issue, I hope they will respond. Thanks a lot for your help, much appreciated. -:)
