Can anyone tell me why Samsung stopped the auto redial feature. I love my S7 but hate when I have to phone places like my doctors.  It is hard to get through. On my Note and S5 I just hit auto redial on settings. It was easy to do when I am driving (using handsfree) as phone just dials until it connects. Now with the S7 I have to wait until I am away from the car because no more redial.  This was a great feature and I wouldn't have purchased the phone had I known it was no longer available. I drive for a living so handsfree features like that are invaluable to me.

Hi,

You could just hit the phone button on dialer and the last number that you called will pop up.

Also, you could use this interesting app for auto redial feature :https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=comq.android.autoRedial&hl=fr

This is not a solution.  This is an app designed to get around the limitation that some, likely 3rd world countries, impose where you get the first few minutes free.  So after say 10 mins, it will automatically hang up your call and call your party back.  This of course is insane.

What we need is for the phone to detect that we reached a busy signal and automatically redial that number until we get through.

Downloading a third party app. is unacceptable. This is definitely NOT a good fix. It's a work around at best. My old flip phone had auto redial.

I was able to find a "Auto retry" setting.  in the "recents" screen tap the 3 vertial dots and choose settings.  scroll down to "other call settings" and scroll down.  I haven't been able to try it, since the number I called was open after I turned the feature on.

Well I tried the redialer, I have no idea what it does, I have to hang up manually and retry. Does not seem to work at all.

By god Samsung can you make your interface any bit more user unfriendly by stripping features every time we update our phones. This isn't even particular new practice.

This should not be a thing we as customers have to be concerned with. I wanna be able to recall the very same number if it's busy none of these places write down incoming calls that's for the very reason that they are flooded with calls each day. So you won't even get any call back upon phoning them. Tapping a button in order to recall is stupid. You might be on your way to work or on work by the time you have to phone the doctor. Due to what their opening times are.

Can't recall them directly, that might even be considered outright dangerous if you might have to drive somewhere constantly having to redial the same number manually. OP unsolve this issue if you can. I'm not putting up with this solution, fix this Samsung! This should be available on default, for this very reason alone.

Any other manufacturer still has this feature too from the looks of it. Just Samsung decides we should not need this for whatever reason again. Nasty shenanigans really on the cost of each Samsung mobile user.
