My S21 FE was updated to Android 14 on 30 December 2023. There had been glitches and errors after that but these were resolved, basically. One particular glitch has remain a nuisance, however. The new fonts that came with Android 14 renders some of the texts literally unreadable in some applications. A classical example are those in Whatsapp. Those texts shown immediately under a post title of a message look garbled and blurred purely because of their style. There obviously is nothing wrong with the display. They never were before my phone was upgraded to Android 14. Then I realized I am stuck on the default font, and I have no other choice. I downloaded some other fonts from Samsung and tried them on the phone. This only made the problem worse. I imagine the problem would be solved if only I am able to revert the font style on my phone back to where it was i.e. an Android 13 default font. Anyone out there hit by the same problem? What are the solutions?

This is my last attempt to get some help. I have included a screenshot of the eBay app, which absolutely makes clear this ghostly white shadowing of each letter, surely Samsung or someone out there knows how to fix this. Please help if you can. 1710608026751.jpg

Hi Kinc,

Many thanks for your feedback. As I understand it, a factory reset doesn't affect the operating system or it's updates; that will remain exactly the same as it was before you did the factory reset. So for me, you have confirmed that the promlem must be one of the apps. Probably that was updated by the Google Play Store, or the Samsung app store.

And as this affects multiple apps, the font reassignment must be in one of the libraries used by multiple apps.

I solved this problem by going to Accessibility > Vision enhancements > and turning off Hign contrast fonts.

Many thanks for your advice. Trouble is: I never invoked High Contrast fonts in the first place.
