Setting notification to priority

How can I set notifications to priority such that they will make my phone ring when I use the "do not disturbe" mode? If i hold the notifications the option doesn't appear

Any solution for this topic? It's very annoying, since A12 this feature is missing.

This is the same issue I'm having. And for whatever reason I can not set my brother as a priority notification. I don't have a gear anymore if I slide his message the left. I used to be able to just select him as a silent notification and my edge lighting would go off and it would be fine. Won't do that anymore, it's driving me crazy.
