Hi I have Samsung S21 FE 5 g. 2.5 years old device. Out of warranty.  During the recent One UI 8 update phone froze mid Web browsing & went off . It was then on a boot loop & tried to restart at least 10 times . Once restarted & on home page the screen glitched pixelated, pink lines, felt warm then switched off & did not come back on again. Worked OK for 10 minutes then happened again.    I cannot lose photos & and information on my phone . This is a huge inconvenience. This update is definitely to blame.  Its not the motherboard, screen , storage or battery.  Worked almost perfectly before.  Its the latest update that has ruined my device.  I will NEVER buy any Samsung products again. Its clear this update is causing bugs glitches & simply needs resolving   many other posts & forums say the same. Spent 2 hours on chat to alleged experts who basically admitted the rollout has caused problems!!  These devices are made to malfunction after 2 years so that you upgrade.  Absolutely no support from Samsung at all.   All answers appreciated !

I'm kinda seeing this a lot which is worrying. The only real thing I can think of to fix a software borked phone is an emergency software recovery. Which wipes the phone and requires a computer.

Plain broken updates I have no way of fixing. So the only thing I can do is assume the update failed in some way and assume reinstalling android would fix it

I'm going to go to the phone repair shop & see if they can do the USB PC thing you mentioned in a previous post i take it this cant be done on a laptop ? Also where do the back ups go ie files photos etc ? . The crazy thing is it did work for about 10 mins. In that time I deleted a lot of apps data & checked my battery was optimised. Its a BETA rollout & unless I'm on my phone I can't opt out. I don't remember even joining any Beta programmes. It's definitely some kind of corruption or hopefully Samsung will realise the One ui 8 has major issues. I'd be happy to go back to my Nokia 3310 right now !!

The smart switch recovery thing works on anything with windows. Desktop, laptop, it doesn't matter.

As for backups, you can backup to a computer or to the cloud. Issue is to start a backup you need to be able to get to the home screen to open an app that does it.

Full backups are done using the smart switch app on your phone. Press the cloud icon to do a cloud one, connect your phone to your pc with smart switch also on your pc to backup to that pc
