S21 Ultra gaming

Hi everyone.

So I am loving everything about my ultra, but one big problem. With some games I find the phone lags, quite badly. For example Madden, Fortnite and Golf battle, I don't know why this is. It runs Call of Duty perfectly which is a performance demanding game so it obviously is capable. I just don't know why it's lagging on games my Note 10+ didn't?

I'm currently not multitasking so keeping a temperature of 42-45 whilst playing pokemon go but that's still high especially as it's winter, I'm awaiting a specialist to respond

I have exactly the same problem as you on Golf Battle with my Galaxy S21 Ultra, I didn't have any problem with my S10+... It is very irritating

I had the same problem on Golf Battle: the game was often freezing and the temperature of CPU was increasing a lot...

To correct this problem, I change the refresh rate when I play: go to "Display" → "Motion smoothness" and choose "Standard".

You can do this automatically with a Bixby Routine: go to "Advanced features" → "Bixby Routines" (enable this option if it is disable) → "Add routine" → click on "If" → Choose "Game is being played" if you use Game Launcher (or "App opened" and choose Golf Battle) → click on "Then" → "Display" → "Motion smoothness and screen resolution" → Choose "standard" (you can also choose the Full HD+ resolution) → Click on next and choose a name to this routine.
When routine ends, this action will be reverse automattically and your refresh rate will be "adaptative".

Gold Battle works perfectly for me now, with the phone still on adaptive display

Yep, it runs slower. My old Huawei p30 pro runs faster than my s21 ultra. I have no idea why, but one thing im sure of is that the ultra cannot keep up with my p30 pro...

This is a widespread issue with the s21 series and could be a result of a couple different reasons. Both reasons would be due to the game not being correctly updated and optimised to work with the new s21 series. As previously suggested it could be a result of conflict with screen refresh rates and the game or it could be a conflict with the game running on the new generation of CPU. Whatever the issue is, the game will require an update to fix the issue

i am facing lag on all games such as asphalt 9 and cod mobile. i am so frustrated with Samsung. was so much happier on the iphone. Any fix ?

Frames are dropping to 40 within a minute of gameplay. used GPU watch to check

All seems okay on mine now. Various updates helped and I have the device on high performance mode and also have the thermal threshold increased on the Galaxy labs application

The fix is to set Focus on performance on game booster. then Quit the game and go to Apps search for Game Booster and game optimization app open them hit the three dots at the right corner and Uninstall Updates. Dont reinstall them. 

Now you can enjoy smooth gaming like you are supposed to
