Picture size issue

I have set rear phone camera to 16:9 and 9megp, but when i take a pic on both standard and pro, the size is only 2-3meg?? Why not full?

lol I meant why not full size of 9 meg pixels?

It doesn't work that way, megapixels at 9 mb doesn't lead to a file of 9mb.

ok, was needing some high resolution pics so will use my fuji camera . thanks for the reply.
